Far Cry 6 just got its biggest update yet with the release of the Vaas Insanity DLC, a standalone expansion that puts players in the mind of Far Cry 3 villain Vaas. The DLC comes alongside an update that mostly fixes existing bugs.
The Vaas Insanity DLC features Better Call Saul actor Michael Mando, who reprises his role as the third game’s insane villain. More than a typical first-person shooter, the Vaas Insanity DLC plays like a “roguelite.”
“Starting with nothing more than a pistol to defend themselves, players will need to find new weapons and unlock power-ups to become stronger and progress deeper into the depths of Vaas’ psyche,” the DLC’s description reads. “Blending intense action and storytelling, Vaas: Insanity will provide a unique opportunity to better understand Vaas’ past, personal demons, and motivations.”
The expansion is part of the game’s DLC Season Pass, which is priced at $40. Two further expansions are planned for release, which is set to put players in the shoes of Far Cry 4 villain Pagan Min and Far Cry 5 villain Joseph Seed.
In addition, Far Cry 6 is now offering a new set of cosmetics inspired by Breaking Bad — fitting, given that the game’s main villain is played by Giancarlo Esposito, who played the role of Gus Fring, one of the show’s primary antagonists. The update adds Heisenberg-themed outfits and weapons, as well as the addition of the Los Pollos Hermanos fried chicken restaurant, which now appears in the game.
The inclusion of the Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul-related content might imply a canonical connection between the Far Cry 6 and Breaking Bad universes, fans speculate.
The November 16 update comes with the following set of bug fixes:

A previously announced DLC roadmap for Far Cry 6 shows plans to add crossover missions including Rambo, actor Danny Trejo, and Stranger Things — all of which will be freely available at some point in the future in the form of “Insurgencies.” In these missions, players will track down Anton Castillo’s lieutenants to unlock new weapons and gear in all-new locations set in the game’s fictional country of Yara.
